For assistance call or W.h.a.t.s.a.p.p us on ...(.+.2.5.4.7.7.9.5.4.0.1.3.2)........... Read the following case study and answer the questions that follow @CLICKMODE Connect. Communicate. Convert Source: Introduction @ClickMode is a small graphic design and branding agency specialising in design, branding, digital marketing and social media marketing located in Kempton Park. The owner- Piet Rampedi is an IT specialist and he employ five graphic designers.- Linda Saptoe and Dakalo Malatji are two senior designers employed at @ClickMode along with three junior designers who have recently graduated. The five graphic designers represent the digital marketing team and Dakalo Malatji is the team leader. Piet also employed two highly experienced photographers, three general workers assisting with printing work, two administrators handling contracts and finances and a receptionist- Kutlwano Jones who does a good job of representing the agency. In total the agency employs thirteen staff members. Operational context The agency builds fantastic websites and have been rated as one of South Africa’s top social media marketing influencer agencies that works across multiple platforms. The digital marketing team is highly productive. They have been managing social media for clients since 2008 and have worked with a wide variety of brands to develop their social media strategies. They believe in using a mix of strategies when executing a marketing campaign and social media advertising plays a big part in this mix. Their creativity shows in high-end printing of final products, marketing material and promotional goods. One of the senior graphic designers- Dakalo approached Piet to inform him that most of the staff members are threatening to resign due to (1) low wages, and (2) no benefits. In particular, the receptionist Kutlwano and the three general workers feel that they have been employed for over 10 years and have nothing to show for their hard work and commitment to the agency – not even some support or recognition from Piet. They feel that they have never had any opportunities for career development or advancement and are threatening to look for work elsewhere. Dakalo also indicated to Piet that one of the administrators has found out that other agencies in the city centre offers their employees competitive wages, more benefits and vacation time to spend with their families. They go on teambuilding initiatives, get regular training which gives them more opportunities for career development and, to top it all, general workers work flexible hours which allows them to do freelance jobs on a part time basis. Piet is very concerned by these allegations, as he always thought that he paid his workers well and that they had nothing to complain about. He also does not want to lose the workers that have been working with him for over 10 years. 1. Based on the complaints that Piet has heard from Dakalo, what are the motivators necessary to retain these employees? Give reasons for your answer. [5] 2. To address the complaints by the employees from @CLICKMODE, apply Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and Hertzberg’s two factor theory of motivation to illustrate to Piet the way in which the complaints of his employees link with these two theories. [20] 3. Yolande, a disgruntled ex-employee posts a complaint on LinkedIn that concerns Piet and the agency. The post states that he does not pay employees fairly and does not grant them benefits that they are entitled to by law. [11] 3.1 In your consultation with Piet, examine the benefits that the employees are entitled to by law. (6) 3.2 In line with the South African minimum wage legislation, demonstrate how Piet can ensure that he is not paying below minimum wage. (4) 3.3 Should Piet respond to Yolande’s LinkedIn post? Applied Human Resource Management Competencies

1. Based on the complaints that Piet has heard from Dakalo, what are the
motivators necessary to retain these employees?

To retain the employees at @ClickMode, Piet needs to address a few key motivators.

1. Fair Compensation

The employees feel that their wages are low, especially considering how long
some of them have been working at the company. Increasing wages or providing
bonuses based on years of service could show appreciation for their
commitment.

2. Benefits

The lack of benefits like healthcare, retirement plans, or paid vacation time has
left employees feeling undervalued. Offering these basic benefits would greatly
improve their morale.

3. Recognition and Career Growth

Employees, especially the general workers, feel like their hard work has gone
unnoticed. Implementing recognition programs or giving them opportunities for
promotions or skill development (like training) would boost motivation.

4. Work-Life Balance
