Basic system requirements: CPU-does thinking/processing. CPU uses binary code to

corrupted or lost easily. These are records that are kept
for short periods). Backup is making copies of data or
data files in case some data gets deleted. External hard
disk drive (HDD)-fast and reliable, but fragile and can
break. Internal connects with SATA cable. Non volatile-
swop files between RAM and HDD if RAM is full.
Defragmenter spreads pieces of file apart on HDD
to increase speed.
Software installation:
Download software from internet by downloading software
from website where software is available. Can also buy
software from app stores.
Portable storage medium installation is through dvd or cd.
Includes OS and some games. Need to install the items
physically by inserting into optical disk drive of comp.
Installation program will automatically start.
To install software you need to accept the license agreement,
enter registration key or code of product, check for updates,
register your product, install extras.
Optical media damages easily, its slow and cant share a lot of
data. Advantages are that it is cheap. Copying content off of
protected disk is ‘ripping’. CD storage smallest, then DVD and
biggest-BluRay.

when modified about the file. Even geo-location (where
photo was taken) and what type of cam was used. Also
how you can manipulate the file. General tab also shows
basic info. Advanced tab also shows more attributes.
File attributes are settings that are linked to comp files to
give or deny access to that file. Most important: “hidden”
and “read only”. Hidden can not be seen when browsing
through folders, can only be seen if you allow all of them
to be seen.
Import and export- comps have ways to organise and
encode their data, but not those from other programs.
Has to convert file into another format to export and
import is bringing from one program to one you use.
Allows comps to read each others files.
Search: can use FileExplorer to search file. Enter in search
box.
