“The housekeeping department not only prepares clean guestrooms on a timely basis for
arriving guests, it also cleans and maintains everything in the hotel so that the property is as
fresh and attractive as the day it opened for business.” (Nitschke and Frye, 2008, p.3) In this
assignment I will be going into deeper detail with regards to the four-step training method.
The goal is that employees get a better understanding of what is required of them. Each
step in the training method will go into great detail of what a room attendant must do, how
they must do it and why it is important that they do things according to the hotels standard.
The steps will include demonstration of how employees should perform the task.
